Voor opleidingscentrum MYOS in Utrecht heb ik een educatieve poster ontwikkeld om motorische innervatie van grote spiergroepen in hoofdlijnen inzichtelijk te maken. MYOS leidt (sport)masseurs en therapeuten op, voor wie de wereld van het menselijk bewegingsapparaat op gegeven moment geen geheimen meer kent. Motorische innervatie vanuit het zenuwstelsel is fijn vertakt en kent veel overgangsgebieden, waardoor een helder overzicht dreigt te vervagen. Voor hun leergang Dry Needling hadden zij behoefte aan een vereenvoudigd overzicht (Key Muscles) op hoofdlijnen: welke spier wordt door welke ruggenmergszenuw aangestuurd?
Ik ben zelf naast illustrator ook massagetherapeut, en ik vind het heerlijk om mijn kennis van menselijke anatomie en de theorie achter therapeutische interventies te combineren met mijn artistieke vak van illustrator. EN: Innervation Key Muscles
For training centre MYOS, City of Utrecht, I developed an educational poster to create better insight in, and a concise overview of, motor innervation of big muscle groups. MYOS trains (sports) masseurs and therapists, for whom the world of human motion holds no more secrets in the end. Motor innervation by the human nervous system is finely feathered, and has numerous transition zones, that diffuse a clear overview. But a simplified overview of Key Muscles is exactly what they needed for their training of Dry Needling: which muscle is innervated by which spinal nerve?
Apart from being an illustrator, I am also a massage therapist, and I love to combine my knowledge of human anatomy and the theories that lead to therapeutic intervention with my artistic skills as an illustrator.
